Players that have made the Mot of their Talent and Wasted it

It was said on another thread about Beckham making the most of his talent.

I think Lampard junior, love him or hate him, is also up there. I see him play as a kid form the age of 7 and he was good but not even the best player on the pitch each week.

Wasted it.

Has to be Morrison. Such a shame that he couldn't keep his head together.

What other players spring to mind that have made it through sheer hard work and determination?

I also recall Graham Stuart the chap who played for Chelsea and Everton...On his day he could be unplayable...I always thought he should have done much more...

Yeah, that or the manager wanted to get Morrison away from a shit agent that has failed the player, since taking him unsuccessfully to Italy and then Mexico, giving up on what could have been a great England future for a international stint with Jamaica.

Morrison is 25yrs old, comes from a very rough background and has to deal with a manager and captain that that put their greed ahead of his development.

At 25 he has gone off to Italy to play and then 18 games and 3 goals in Mexico.

I wouldn’t write him off just yet.

In England Scott Parker is the best example of an average player that has obtained more than his qualities deserved.
Le Tissier was the best english player of his generation IMO but his decision of staying in S'oton was a total waste of talent.
In Italy Aquilani has played at levels above his merit and qualities while Morfeo is probably the best example of a player who has thrown away a great career.
